Story telling - or Story Doing?
I was pointed to an article on LinkedIn this week, which happens to cover our DFDS ship - and is a great explanation of what we and DFDS were trying to achieve. And just in case you don't speak Danish, here's an English translation, courtesy of Google translate:

'Jurassic joy' was brought to the Harris Museum and Art Gallery in Preston Lancashire, during the summer, swelling visitor numbers to the gallery. Brick Dinos paid a visit to the awe-inspiring museum in Preston's City Centre for two months, and visitor numbers exceeded 40,000 during that time!
Brick City - The Backstage Tour
August was a busy month for all of us here at Warren Elsmore, as we welcomed thousands of visitors to our ‘Brick City- The Backstage Tour’ as part of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. For one month only we moved our studio into the Scottish Historic Buildings Trust's newly refurbished headquarters at Riddles Court, just off the famous Royal Mile, right in the heart of 'the fringe'.
Awesome Bricks - cleared for take off!
The Warren Elsmore Team were busy towards the end of August with an event called Awesome Bricks at the Scottish Museum of flight at East Fortune Airfield near North Berwick. We were on hand all weekend to assist with lots of LEGO activities and to have some fun with bricks.

The Big Clean Up
After a successful Edinburgh Fringe Festival run (Brick City - the Backstage Tour) things are starting to get back to normal, and we recently returned a lot of models, bricks and equipment back to our studio. But the two huge LEGO brick arches that highlighted our location on the Royal Mile had been sitting outside for a month, and needed some TLC. They have now been carefully dismantled, cleaned and returned to our Warehouse. It's not all glamorous work being professional LEGO® artists!
We want to lift the ship...
Most of the time, when we build a commission - it belongs to our clients so they can do whatever they like with it. Even a 2.8 tonne, 13 metre long ship. But sometimes, there are special circumstances!
Warren Elsmore and Touring Exhibitions Group Case Study
It's all been a bit hectic here lately, that's for sure! We're right in the middle of putting our studio back together, following on from the Festival. Don't worry - we'll be posting lots of pictures soon.
Roads? Where we're going we don't need any - oh wait.....!
As we continue to add more buildings and scenery to Brick City - the backstage tour, we realised last week that we really did need some more roads. Specifically, roads that could fit between our houses and waterside. LEGO road plates are actually pretty large and not that pretty, so why not make them ourselves?
Explore Edinburgh and win tickets to Brick City - the backstage tour!
If you're in Edinburgh this month and you like LEGO (well, you're reading this - so I guess you do!) then we have a challenge for you and a chance to win free tickets to our Edinburgh Fringe show!
The opening of (a) Parliament
Pop quiz! What's the oldest continually running parliament in the world? Hint - it's not the UK but it is nearby....
Big Black... Roosters.
Around this time last year, Teresa and I were in Portugal for the first LEGO fan weekend. Not their first event, but the first as a fully fledged hub event. Anyway, the event last year was fantastic. I'll be honest in that we had no idea what to expect, but whatever ideas we might have had were blown away by the hospitality, generosity and professionalism of the event. Obviously......
Lets go Down(ton) Newbury, shall we?
If you were in the Kennet Shopping Centre in Newbury last week - you can't have failed to notice this going on! Highclere Castle is the real life building that is used as the setting for Downton Abbey. A TV show that a few people have seen apparently!
